The Australian Minister for Justice is a government minister responsible for certain matters relating to law and the administration of justice. The Minister for Justice is a more junior minister who supports the Attorney-General, and administers the portfolio through the Attorney-General's Department. The current Minister for Justice (since 2013) is the Honourable Michael Keenan . Michael Tate was appointed the first minister with this title on 18 September 1987 and there have been ministers with responsibilities for justice ever since except between 3 December 2007 and 14 September 2010. ==List of Justice Ministers== The following individuals have been appointed as Minister for Justice, or any of its precedent titles:
